August 30, 2015 – Historical Yellowstone Yellow Bus Tour
Built by the Bender Body Company for touring, these buses are an iconic part of Yellowstone history. The historical Yellow Bus Tours began in Yellowstone National Park during the 1930’s to provide tours throughout the Park until the 1960’s. The Red Buses were used to tour Glacier National Park during the same time period. Since 1996, Jackie LeFever and the crew at Bullwinkle’s Saloon and Eatery in West Yellowstone, MT have been hosting a luncheon for the annual pilgrimage of the historic Yellowstone Yellow Buses through Yellowstone National Park. The descendants of the original owners of the tour buses bring their rigs back for a tour every year. Reminiscent of the 1930’s, the annual luncheon starts with Tomato Juice, a cup of homemade Greek Lemon Soup, Sliced Turkey with Gravy and Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and a dessert of Homemade Apple Pie with Cheese and Ice Cream. Due to an early typo on the souvenir menus, we also continue to accompany the meal with our signature Packer House Rolls! July 4th, 2015 – 2nd Annual HotDog Eating Contest
Hot Dogs aren’t normally on the menu at Bullwinkle’s Saloon and Eatery – unless it’s July 4th! This year saw the reclaiming of the title for the Under 12 division, Nice Job! We may not be up to Nathan’s Famous proportions, but if you want to try to eat more than 9 hot dogs in less than 5 minutes, come on down and sign up anytime before noon on the 4th. We hold the competition outside so there is lots of room for cheering on your favorites, and it’s held just before the annual parade down Main Street, so you already have a great spot! Winners have enjoyed $50 Bar Tabs or $25 Food Checks, prizes of T-shirts and Beer Coozies to runners ups!! See you on the 4th!
